SCSI Reservations are not an issue, deduplication will dramatically reduce your disk space usage, and a PAM card will ensure you get the performance you need during those boot storms. I can't see using VMFS for anything but maybe the top .5 - 1% of the most demanding apps. How About NetApp NFS?
